What is Wake Women’s Weekend?
In its third biennial year, this signature event is presented by the Office of Alumni Engagement. The weekend is intended to be an opportunity for personal, professional, and intellectual development via workshops, presentations, and facilitated discussions by alumnae, faculty, staff, and friends. The weekend is also a time to come “home” and reconnect with the campus and old friends, as well as, create new connections with other Wake Forest women. Participants may expect lively conversation, valuable programming, time for fun and leisure, and delicious dining.
Wake Women’s Weekend is a time to Reconnect, Reflect, Recharge, and depart Renewed.
Who is invited?
Wake Forest women of all ages and life stages. Women with any Wake Forest degree are included in marketing communications. While most attendees are alumnae, women with special affinity for Wake Forest are welcome to attend. In the past, participants have joined us from across five decades.
What is the theme for the weekend?
For the purpose of providing inclusive, relevant, and diverse content for a broad audience, we choose to not establish an explicitly defined theme for the weekend.
How do I recommend myself or someone else as a possible presenter?
We would love to know your recommendations! Please provide nominations via this form. Additionally, we wish to improve upon the experience from year to year. Please pass along your helpful suggestions to Laura Harrell ’92 – email@example.com. We may not be able to incorporate all your great ideas, but we do consider all feedback.
Is Wake Women’s Weekend affiliated with Wake NOW (Network of Women)?
Both are engagement initiatives supported by the Office of Alumni Engagement. Wake NOW (Network of Women) is the Wake Forest University affinity group for current students, alumnae, and parents dedicated to providing enriching personal and professional development opportunities to women of the University community. Wake NOW events are primarily volunteer-driven and occur regionally. Wake Women’s Weekend couples professional and personal development with the opportunity to reunite with friends while experiencing the nostalgia of being back on campus. All women with an affinity for Wake Forest are welcome, however, the primary audience for Wake Women’s Weekend is alumnae.
